>On the Road by Jack Kerouac

>I can now officially retire my Blackberry. I finally finished listening to On the Road by Jack Kerouac which I had downloaded from Overdrive.  I have to say, it’s not what I expected. I don’t know what I expected really but at least I wasn’t disappointed. I did enjoy it.

The book kind of reminded me of my dad. Not saying that he was anything like any of the characters in the book, but my dad was a truck driver and some of his trucker stories came to mind as this story unfolded. My dad used to tell me about  some of the hitchhikers he would pick up on his way across the country and he would tell me about other things he saw on the road. Some of my dad’s friends though, did remind me of some of Kerouac’s characters. Doesn’t everyone know a person like Dean? It was a fun story of freedom and adventure.

I cleaned my Blackberry out – deleted anything personal on it and cleared out all the photos, videos, music, and of course books that I had on it. Goodbye Blackberry, you’ve been good to me but it’s time to move on now.

Why hello there Droid! Time to start listening to The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury.
By the way, the Overdrive user interface is so much easier to use on the Droid than on the Blackberry.
