Book Review – A Dance with Dragons

Cover for A Dance with DragonsWhen I first started reading this series I was astounded at how unpredictable it was. How dare the author kill off any of the main characters, how can he get away with not allowing anything to happen the way it should, you know, good versus evil, love always prevails, etc. The Song of Fire and Ice series is not like any epic fantasy story I ever read before; there isn’t a defined good or evil, all of the characters are flawed making them seem more real and alive.

In reading A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin, I was no longer surprised by the plot twists but was nevertheless at the edge of my seat reading it. I think this is a great story told by a master and I am eagerly awaiting to learn what happens next.

Song of Fire and Ice – Books 1-4

This is one of the best epic series I have ever read. There are so many plot twists and surprises, there is no predicting what will happen. Every time I think I have something figured out, something unexpected comes up. Each chapter is written from various characters’ points of view so the reader has an idea of how they think; however some key characters you only hear about through the eyes of the other main characters. George R R Martin is a genius to be able to pull it all together the way he does. I highly recommend this series.
